The Singing Boys of Sioux Falls, a local, non-profit organization with a 30-year history in giving boys the opportunity to learn and perform great choral music, is looking for a part-time Executive Director with a passion for youth choral music and expertise. The Executive Director will report to the Board of Directors and work closely with the Artistic Director, Board and Staff to achieve the current plans and determine new possibilities for the organization.
As the Executive Director, you’ll assist in providing leadership and direction to the organization. You’ll have a variety of responsibilities including:
The Singing Boys of Sioux Falls is composed of two choirs with boys in grades 2nd – 9th grades, which meet on Monday. The choirs perform two signature concerts per year, plus a variety of performances at local churches, private parties, and sporting events. In addition, the choirs tour locally in the spring and overnight in early summer. The Singing Boys of Sioux Falls also hosts a one-week camp each summer.
We’re looking for someone who would be thoroughly committed to the success of The Singing Boys organization; Possess any combination equivalent to bachelor’s degree in arts administration, public relations, marketing or a related field and fundraising experience for an arts organization, preferably in choral music. The ideal candidate will be someone who will provide leadership to organization, communicate effectively to a variety of audiences and maintain accurate records.
This is a part-time position, approximately 20-25 hours/month. The Executive Director must be available during rehearsals on Mondays during the school year; assist with various performances approximately once/month; assist with camp for one week during the summer; chaperone during the Sioux Falls Day Tour, the Mid-Winter Tour (overnight) and the Summer tour (3-5 days). Approximately two hours/week are spent on administrative responsibilities. This is a paid position.
